An air conditioner. The air conditioner comprises an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger (1), a compressor (2), a first directional valve (3), a second directional valve (4), and a heat collecting component (5). The indoor heat exchanger, the outdoor heat exchanger (1), and the compressor (2) constitute a closed-loop refrigerant circulation system. The heat collecting component (5) is provided on the compressor (2) or provided in proximity to the compressor (2). The first directional valve (3) is used for allowing the air conditioner to switch between a cooling mode and a heating mode. The second directional valve (4) is configured to transfer the heat collected by the heat collecting component (5) from the compressor (2) to the indoor heat exchanger when the air conditioner is running in the heating mode, thus allowing the heat of the compressor (2) to be fully utilized, implementing an increase in the heating effect of the air conditioner via the heat of the compressor (2) without incurring an increase in the power consumption of the air conditioner, reducing operating costs for the air conditioner, and enhancing user experience.
