Abstract:
Provided is an air mattress that prevents bedsores from forming on a person lying thereupon. Said air mattress has: a plurality of air cell groups in the long direction of the air mattress, positioned corresponding to at least the head, shoulders, back, buttocks, thighs, knees, and heels of a person lying on the air mattress, each air cell group comprising a plurality of pouch-shaped cells; an air intake/removal pump; and air tubes that connect the pouch-shaped cells to the air intake/removal pump, said air tubes comprising one or more independent first lines, for each air cell group, and one or more independent second lines, for each of specific pouch-shaped cells in multiple air cell groups. A control unit controls the intake and removal of air by the air intake/removal pump such that, at least, the pressure in the air cell groups at the back and thighs is greater than the pressure in the air cell group at the buttocks.
