Abstract:
Provided is an air turbine drive spindle in which movement of the thrust position of a rotating shaft is sufficiently inhibited. The air turbine drive spindle is provided with: a rotating shaft (1) comprising a shaft section (1A) and a thrust plate (1B) formed so as to extend in the radial direction with respect to the shaft section (1A); and air supply sections (13, 14) capable of jetting a gas. The rotating shaft (1) comprises a plurality of rotating blades (15) formed so as to extend in the thrust direction above the thrust plate (1B). The plurality of rotating blades (15) of the rotating shaft (1) can be made to rotate as a result of receiving gas jetted from the air supply sections (13, 14). The air turbine drive spindle is additionally provided with exhaust sections (19, 11) for discharging the gas supplied to the plurality of rotating blades (15). A plurality of through holes (16) extending in the thrust direction are formed in the thrust plate (1B).
