Title:
AIRCRAFT WITH A FUSELAGE SUBSTANTIALLY DESIGNED AS AN AERODYNAMIC LIFTING BODY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1998029303
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The airship has a fuselage (1) built as an aerostatic buoyant body, having propellers (11,12,13,14) with respective shafts (121) and drive units (7,8,9,10). The respective propeller shaft (121) rotation plane (113) can be tilted all round relative to a drive shaft (104) of the allocated propeller drive, and the hull also does duty as aerodynamic float in a ship devoid of activatable aerodynamic steering system. The hull can be circular or elliptical to give an elliptical section whose upper shell is more steeply curved than the flatter bottom shell. The hull is fitted with a stiffener ring in its equatorial belt with the ring also of elliptical section in its exterior.
