Abstract:
An organopolysiloxane having a group represented by general formula (1) on a molecular terminal and/or a side chain has excellent heat resistance, is unlikely to become discolored even after heating, and is capable of imparting excellent flexibility to a fiber surface after treatment. In general formula (1), R1 is a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1-8 carbon atoms, a is an integer of 0-4, R2 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group having 7-20 carbon atoms and including at least one aromatic group, and at least 30 mol% of the groups represented by R2 that are bonded to nitrogen atoms within the organopolysiloxane are monovalent organic groups having 7-20 carbon atoms and including at least one aromatic group. The wavy line represents a bonding site.
