Abstract:

Provided are an antenna device having omnidirectional characteristics and excellent reception characteristics, and a communication method. This antenna device is provided with: a first antenna (1) which is disposed facing a first direction and transmits and receives a signal of a first polarization; a second antenna (2) which is disposed facing a second direction opposite to the first direction, and transmits and receives a signal of the first polarization; a third antenna (3) which is disposed facing a third direction obtained by rotating the second direction by 90° or 180° into a horizontal direction, and transmits and receives a signal of a second polarization orthogonal to the first polarization; and a fourth antenna (4) which is disposed facing a fourth direction opposite to the third direction and transmits and receives the signal of the second polarization. The second antenna (2) is provided with a feeding point (14) disposed so as to be in phase with a feeding point (11) of the first antenna (1). The fourth antenna (4) is provided with a feeding point (14) disposed so as to be reversely phased with respect to a feeding point (13) of the third antenna.
