Abstract:
Disclosed is a single-ball-machining apparatus having a head unit. The apparatus for machining a single ball comprises: a transfer unit which is arranged on a base so as to be movable in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction; a chuck unit which is arranged on the transfer unit such that the chuck unit is movable in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction, and which reaches a machining position to support and rotate a single ball; a head unit which is movably arranged in a support frame on the base, and which has an X-axis portion movable in an X-axis direction, a Y-axis portion connected to the X-axis portion so as to be movable in a Y-axis direction, a Z-axis portion connected to the Y-axis portion so as to be movable in a vertical Z-axis direction, a θ-axis portion rotatably connected to the Z-axis portion, and a bite assembly rotatably arranged below the θ-axis portion to contact the surface of the single ball and to form patterns on the surface of the single ball, whereby the head unit contacts the surface of the single ball rotatably supported by the chuck unit to form engraved curved patterns on the surface of the single ball; and a control unit for controlling the transfer unit, the chuck unit, and the head unit.
