Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting spots within a diagnostic kit result image. The apparatus for detecting spots within a diagnostic kit result image, according to the present invention, comprises: an image acquisition unit that acquires a diagnostic kit test result image via an image scanner of screening equipment; a reference point detection unit that detects a reference point on the acquired diagnostic kit test result image; an image pre-processing unit that extracts a region of interest (ROI) by aligning the diagnostic kit test result image on the basis of the detected reference point; a spot detection unit that detects spots on the extracted region of interest by using an image denoising technique and a blob detection algorithm; a negative/positive reading unit that determines negative or positive by quantitatively numericalizing the degree to which a positive reaction has occurred in the detected spots; and a reading result output unit that displays a value of the determined result.
