In an apparatus and method for identifying animal species robustly against a noisy environment, an animal crying sound section is detected on the basis of crying sounds of animal species; noise is estimated on the basis of a section in which no animal crying sound exists and the noise is removed from a received sound; and then enhanced audio features are learned in spite of various kinds of noise, so as to enable identification of animal species.
