Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for vulcanizing a pneumatic tire, whereby overvulcanization can be suppressed with no increase in equipment size and while adequate internal pressure imparted to a green tire is maintained in the initial stage of vulcanization. A pressurizing medium at relatively low pressure is supplied through a pressurizing medium low-pressure supply line 6L2 and expanded into a cylindrical vulcanization bladder 2 inserted in a green tire G in a vulcanization mold 10, after which a heating medium is supplied into the vulcanization bladder 2 through a heating medium supply line 6L3, and while the medium in the vulcanization bladder 2 is then circulated through a circulation line 8L extending to the outside of the vulcanization bladder 2, a pressurizing medium at relatively high pressure is supplied into the vulcanization bladder 2 through a pressurizing medium supply line 6L1, the internal pressure of the vulcanization bladder 2 is increased, and the green tire G is vulcanized.
