Abstract:
Provided are an use of andrographolide as a regulator for reducing lipid synthesis and/or reducing the formation and secretion of very low density lipoproteins and an application of andrographolide in drugs. Further disclosed is a method for a drug containing an effective dose of andrographolide and acting as a regulator of HNF4α to reduce the expression of genes MTP, APOB and PLA2G12B, and simultaneously reduce the expression of genes SREBP-1, FASN and SCD-1. The andrographolide can reduce the expression of lipid metabolism-related genes and interfere with the interaction of HNF4α/PGC-1α in liver cells, and reduce the expression of downstream target genes. Therefore, the andrographolide can reduce lipid synthesis and the formation and secretion of very low density lipoprotein so as to reduce blood lipids and lower lipid content in the liver, thereby ultimately playing the function of preventing and/or treating diseases related to abnormal lipid metabolism. Moreover, the andrographolide is an effective ingredient of natural drugs, and has good curative effect and low toxic and side effect.
