Abstract:
The present invention provides an aqueous paint additive including a siloxane-branched polyether-modified silicone which is represented by average composition formula (1) of R1

cSiO(4―a―b―c)/2, and has a weight average molecular weight of 500-100,000 (in formula (1), R1 is an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or an organic group represented by general formula (2) of -CmH2m-O-(C2H4O)d(C3H6O)eR4, R2 is a group represented by general formula (3) of -CmH2m-O-(C2H4O)f(C3H6O)g-R5, R3 is an organosiloxane represented by general formula (4), R4 is a hydrocarbon group or an organic group represented by R6-(CO)-, R5 is a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, or an organic group represented by R6-(CO)-, and R6 is a hydrocarbon group.), wherein the siloxane-branched polyether-modified silicone satisfies formula (I), and formula (II). Due to said feature, provided are a paint additive, a paint composition, and in particular, an aqueous paint, which have a low environmental load and impart excellent antifouling performance.
