Abstract:
An aramid yarn having excellent adhesiveness with a polyurethane matrix resin according to the present invention is characterized in that a polyurethane resin is adhered and impregnated on the surface and inside the aramid yarn, and the content of the polyurethane resin is 1.5-7.0 wt% of the total weight, that is, the sum of the weight of the polyurethane resin adhered and impregnated on the surface and inside the aramid yarn and the weight of the aramid yarn prior to the adherence and impregnation of the polyurethane resin. The present invention is characterized in that, during a continuous process for producing aramid yarn, a sizing agent composed of a polyurethane resin organic solvent and water is adhered and impregnated on the surface and inside yarn while adjusting the content of the polyurethane resin adhered and impregnated on the surface and inside the aramid yarn to be within 1.5-7.0 wt% of the total weight, that is, the sum of the weight of the polyurethane resin adhered and impregnated on the surface and inside the aramid yarn and the weight of the aramid yarn prior to the adherence and impregnation of the polyurethane resin. In the present invention, a separate sizing agent adhering process may be omitted since the sizing agent can be adhered and impregnated in the aramid yarn during a spinning process for producing the aramid yarn. Moreover, an aramid fabric according to the present invention is loosely packed due to being woven in a basket weave structure, and thus has an improved wetting property with the polyurethane matrix resin impregnated into the aramid fabric. Consequently, the adhesiveness between the aramid fabric and the polyurethane matrix resin is enhanced. The present invention is useful as a refrigerator thermal insulation material, a vehicle component material, or an electronic component material and the like.
