An apparatus and method of articulating a rack (20) for a cooking appliance (10) between a lowered position and a raised position are provided. One or more cams (40,140) drive one or more linkage members (30,130) pivotably connected to the rack (20). One or more drive mechanisms(60) may be used to pivot the one or more cams (40,140).
