Abstract:
Provided is monitoring assistance feature for sensing an abnormal state in relation to a person to be monitored and sending a notification of the state to a remote location, capable of precisely detecting various abnormalities with a simpler configuration and being easy to use. An audio I/O device 200 comprises: a sound acquisition unit 222 which senses sound and generates sound data; a feature extraction unit 224 which extracts features of the sound data from the sound data and generates sound feature data; an abnormality determining unit 225 which computes a match rate of the sound feature data to reference feature data retained in advance and, on the basis of the match rate, determines whether an abnormality is present; a notification processing unit 227 which, if it is determined by the abnormality determining unit that an abnormality is present, notifies a notification recipient determined in advance; and a response processing unit 226 which, if it is determined by the abnormality determining unit that no abnormality is present, analyzes the sound data and carries out processing corresponding to the result of the analysis.
