Abstract:

An audio power amplifier, a gain control circuit of same, and a control method therefor, comprising a signal threshold detection unit (3), a gain compensation unit (4), and a delay control unit (5). The signal threshold detection unit (3) is used for performing a threshold detection with respect to a digital audio signal of an input end of a digital-to-analog converter (1) to acquire a threshold level of the digital audio signal. The gain compensation unit (4) is used for determining a gain adjustment multiple N for the digital audio signal on the basis of the threshold level of the digital audio signal, adjusting the gain of the digital audio signal to N times of the original when the digital audio signal is zero-crossing, and transmitting the adjusted digital audio signal to the digital-to-analog converter (1). The delay control unit (5) is used for adjusting the gain of an analog amplifier (2) to 1/N of the original when the signal is transmitted to the analog amplifier (2), N being a natural number greater than 1. Because N*(1/N)=1, insofar as the amplified total gain is ensured to be kept unchanged, the noise floor of the audio power amplifier is reduced by adjusting the gain of the analog amplifier.
