Abstract:
An authentication device (101) acquires a first authentication image transmitted from a requesting device that is requesting authentication. The authentication device (101) authenticates the user who is using the requesting device requesting authentication, on the basis of the result of a comparison between a subject included in the acquired first authentication image and a subject included in a reference image stored in a storage unit (110). On the basis of the authentication result and the communication load conditions between the authentication device (101) and the requesting device requesting authentication, the authentication device (101) determines the quality of a second authentication image to be newly transmitted from the requesting device requesting authentication.
