Description:
DESCRIPTION

AUTOCONTROLLED, RESERVOIR-BALLOON CATETHER USED IN LOWER

URNINARY SYSTEMS WITH A BALLOON INSIDE

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention is a product design addressing to medical industry and covering the patients that must carry out urine discharge temporarily with a problem of urinary incontinence and disorders with urinary incontinence in the urology field of medical science.

FORMER TECHNIQUE

Today, various types of products have been developed according to the disease types/patient pertaining the urinary discharge in the lower urinary systems in the field of urinary incontinence. However, some part of these products remain very primitive compared to today's technology and some of them cause infection, complications and diseases and some of them force the patient to severe surgeries. The common part of all of them is they reduce the quality of life of the patient.

Nowadays, if we are t list the products according to the disease types used in the current market related to the urination of a patient:

- Probe-catheter for the patients undergoing surgery and the patients receiving treatment as inpatient and outpatient in hospitals,

- Depending on the complications and trauma, plug catheter for the paralyzed, unable to use urination system bedridden or disabled patients,

- Sphinx and mesh prosthesis for urinary incontinence developing depending on aging.

It is the group of patients treated in inpatient or outpatient in health care providers, hospitals, etc. termed and indefinitely admitting to the institutions and discharged. Before the admission, surgery, during and after the surgery probe and catheter are attached by subjecting the relevant patients to catheterization. Infectionseen in use of probe is 30% of all hospital infections and 80-95% is associated with urinary catheter.

The risk of bacteriuria for everyday use of the probe is approximately 3-7%. In 10- 25% of patients with bacteriuria USI develops and in 3% of them bacteremia, serious and life-threatening complications develop. UTIs are the most important unwanted consequences of the use of the probe. Other than that, noninfectious problems, nonbacterial urethritis, urethral strictures and mechanical trauma are considered to be among these problems. The second group of patients; plug catheter is used in patients with spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, spinal tumors, intervertebral disc herniation, cases causing neurogenic bladder, such as diabetic neuropathy, after urinary diversions, obstructive uropathy, hypotonic bladder, cases of bladder dysfunction as detrusor-sphincter discoordinationand / or voiding dysfunction. Themost common unwanted side effects seen with these patients are urinary tract infections (UTI).

Urethral bleeding is a finding that can be seen particularly in new patients and it may form due to false passage. Urethralstrictures and meatal stenosis in the long term may develop.

The third group of patients; is the group of diseases with urinary incontinencewhich was especially due to inability to generate the necessary compression of the sphincter muscle bundles, depending on the prostate surgery in aging men, especially in women and occurs when patients with urinary incontinence is connected. These patients are attached sfinterprosthesis as invasive surgery. During The attachment of the prosthesis a number Sfint complications occur. These are:

Urethral (urinating channel in the penis) can be traumatic and the probe may need to stay longer (0-2%) · Bleeding may take place in the surgery site (1 -5%)

• Infection may occur in the surgery site and stitches may open, the treatment is with antibiotics. (1-3%)

• Infection may develop (1-3%) and it may proceed to the placed prosthesis. The treatment is with antibiotics at the beginning. If not succeeded the prosthesis may need to be removed (infection developed 5-15%)

Narrowing can take place in urinary tract and may require additional surgical treatment.

• Urinary incontinence may continue (7-14%).

• Prosthesis may not work (12%) A product auto controlled subject of invention with a balloon inside similar to reservoir-balloon catheter used in the lower urinary system has not previously been produced and its differences from the existing products include;

• Eliminating the risk of infection since the product has no part other than urethra,

• Not causing any injury or bruising in the discharge system for it will be replaced every 30 days,

Patient being able to attach the product himself without requiring a technical intervention and providing patient self-control

Patients continuing their social life and upgrading their quality of life without the need for treatments repeated 4-10 times of a day, carrying bags of medical materials with them constantly,

Decrease of material and spiritual loads of caregivers and nurses either in hospitals or at home

Being low in price although "better" compared to the current products. Because of that causing much lower costs to both the government and the user, Far from being an alternative to the product of the invention subject, it has the design to take place of all the products category mentioned above, reduce costsand will have a much easier use.

The product subject of invention as seen in Figure.2; tube (1 -1 ), balloon (1-2), check- valve (1-3), water channel (1 ), body (2-1), the invention channel (2-2), malecot head (2-3), probe (2), support rod (3), bladder (4) andpushing rod (5).

Tube seen in Figure.9(1-1), probe (2) with the balloon found inside (1-2) is used to inflate and to prevent liquid from exiting the bladder.

Balloon seen in Figure.9 (1-2) probe (2) prevents the liquid from exiting by inflating inside the bladderand provides the flow of the liquid within the bladder by deflating. Balloon in Figure.1 (1-2) closed status (X), open status (Y) andopen statusthe inflated balloon is seen (Z). While the Balloon (1-2) is in closed status(X) the liquid within the bladderprovided to flow. While the Balloon (1 -2) is in open and inflated status (Z) the liquid within the bladderprevented from flowing.

The check-valve seen in Figure.17 (1-3) in extreme pressure and pushing provides the water flow out of the tube (1-1). Probe (2) is connected with Balloon (1 -2) with a role to carry the other parts of the balloon (1-2) and providing the space needed for the operation of other parts of the balloon (1 -2).

The invention channel (2-2) seen in Figure.8 prevents the escape of the liquid down and up. In addition the invention surface prevents the flow of the liquid in great amount between the contacts of the channel with the surface (2-2).

The Body (2-1) provides the vertical entrance of the end point of the probe (2)with the support rod (3) inside the melacot head (2-3) by passing through it.

Pushing rod(5) will be used for the probe (2)to be attached to the patient and the product will be placed into the bladderandsphinctertract and it will be removed by pulling back after it is seated.

While the Pushing rod (5) allows the probe (2) movie inside the bladder, it reaches up to the bladder site of the patients and proceeding in urethra provides the balloon (1- 2) to remain in the desired position to operate.

This product of subject to invention consists of a balloon (1-2) anda probe to wrap its surrounding (2). The Probe (2) andthe balloon inside it (1-2) will be placed into the sphincter site of the patient and will stay there for 30 days.

The product will stay inside the patient for 30 days due to the silicone, latex technology used in the world and there will be no plug-remove operation during this time. The product will operate with the logic of use-dispose and; the patient will easily replace the product by himself when required.

The preferred application of the reservoir-balloon used in the lower urinary system with a balloon inside which is auto-controlled and the invention is actually as mentioned in the claims.
