An automatic edge banding machine. The automatic edge banding machine comprises a tape supply mechanism (2), a flat cutting and head aligning mechanism (3), a finishing mechanism (4), a profiling and edge trimming mechanism (5) and an edge scraping mechanism (6), wherein the flat cutting and head aligning mechanism (3) is used for cutting redundant edge tapes off of two ends of a workpiece located on a conveying mechanism; the finishing mechanism (4) is used for cutting the upper side line and the lower side line of an edge tape of the workpiece located on the conveying mechanism to form arcs; the profiling and edge trimming mechanism (5) is used for performing profiling and edge trimming on sharp edges at the two ends of the workpiece located on the conveying mechanism; and the edge scraping mechanism (6) is used for being aligned to an arc edge of the workpiece located on the conveying mechanism. A control system and method for the automatic edge banding machine are further comprised. The automatic edge banding machine solves the problem that the edge banding efficiency of an edge banding machine is hindered.
