Abstract:
A vehicle is prevented surely from being backed up when it is started automatically on
a slope or the like. The automatic starter/stopper of an engine comprises an engine
control section (10) for stopping an engine (2) automatically when predetermined stop
conditions are satisfied and for starting the engine (2) automatically when
predetermined start conditions are satisfied, a braking device (3) for imparting
a brake force to a vehicle for mounting the engine (2), and a brake control section
(16) for holding the braked state by the braking device (3) when predetermined brake
holding conditions are satisfied and releasing the braked state by the braking
device (3) when predetermined brake release conditions are satisfied. The
engine control section (10) judges whether the brake control section (16) is
holding the braked state by the braking device (3) or not and starts the engine (2)
automatically when the judgment is affirmed.
