This auxiliary power supply system comprises a plurality of power storage devices for supplying electric power to an electrical device, and includes a communication function for establishing communication with the electrical device and each of the plurality of power storage devices. Each of the plurality of power storage devices temporarily determines, as a communication address of that power storage device, one of a plurality of first communication addresses for the power storage devices set by the electrical device, the number of the first communication addresses being the same as that of the plurality of power storage devices. Each of the plurality of power storage devices sends a response signal in response to a transmission signal to which the temporarily determined communication address of that power storage device is attached. When a communication abnormality occurs in the sending of the response signal, each of the plurality of power storage devices changes the temporarily determined communication address of that power storage device to one of one or more unused communication addresses of the set plurality of first communication addresses.
