Abstract:
Provided is: an azapyrene compound represented by general formula (1) [in the formula, R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or a cyano group, R2 represents a divalent hydrocarbon group having six or more carbon atoms, Y1 represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, Y2 represents a single bond, an oxygen atom, or a group expressed as -NH-]; or a salt thereof. The azapyrene compound or a salt thereof allows transportation of a fatty acid from the outside of a cell to the inside of the cell, allows a lipid metabolic enzyme system existing in a cell to convert a fatty acid into a lipid such as a phospholipid, a diacylglyceride, or a triglyceride, and allows distinction between a fatty acid that has been converted into a phospholipid by the lipid metabolic enzyme system and has been moved into a cell membrane, and a fatty acid that has been converted into a triglyceride by the lipid metabolic enzyme system and thereafter has formed a lipid droplet in a cell.
