Abstract:
This balloon catheter system is provided with: a light irradiation probe having a light irradiation unit that irradiates light at the distal end of a fiber probe; a balloon catheter provided with a shaft into which the light irradiation probe can be inserted and which has a through-hole through which a liquid may be pumped with the light irradiation probe arranged therein, and a balloon which is fixed to one end of the shaft and which can be inflated by a liquid injected through the through-hole of the shaft; and an injection device provided with a measurement unit which can measure the amount of liquid injected into the balloon, and an injecting unit which, through the through hole, injects liquid measured by the measurement unit into the balloon, wherein the liquid injected into the balloon inflates the balloon to expand the wall of the treatment site, and the wall of the treatment site is maintained in an expanded state by means of the inflated balloon.
