Abstract:
The invention relates to a band (1), especially an abrasive and/or polishing band, for machining materials, in addition to a method for the production thereof. The inventive band (1) is provided with a detachable and re-closeable positive fit connection on both ends (5,7) enabling it to be connected to a continuous band. The positive fit connection consists of a recess (11) with a closed edge on one end of the band (1) for machining materials and a head-shaped counterpiece (13) on the other end of said band (1). The band (1) is closed to form a loop and the inwardly oriented working surface thereof is wound around a drive roller and a workpiece during operation.
