Abstract:

A battery cell according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly having a cathode, an anode, and a structure in which a separator is interposed between the cathode and the anode, and having four planar sides; and a pouch case in which the electrode assembly is accommodated, wherein the pouch case comprises: a first storage part in which one portion of the electrode assembly is embedded; a second storage part in which the remaining portion of the electrode assembly is stored; and a folding part which can fold so that the first storage part faces the second storage part, the folding part is formed in close contact with one of the four sides along the side surface of the electrode assembly, the first and second storage parts form a sealing part by coming into contact with each other at portions corresponding to the three sides, excluding the folding part, along the outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly, and the pouch case comprises a seam part formed by making an extension part of the sealing part adhere to the extension surface of the folding part at a portion where the folding part intersects with the sealing part.
