Abstract:
Provided is a battery charger with which it is possible to make it unnecessary to control the balance of electrical current when a constant voltage charging operation is carried out in the case of charging using a plurality of power converters. The present invention is provided with: first to nth power converters (10_1 to 10_n) for converting electrical power supplied by a power source to supply a battery with the electrical power; and a charge-controlling device (20) for charging a battery by causing the power converter(s) to carry out a fixed-electrical-current charging operation, a fixed-electrical-power charging operation, and a fixed-voltage charging operation. When the fixed-electrical-current charging operation and the fixed-electrical-power charging operation are carried out, the charge-controlling device (20) causes the first to the nth power converters (10_1 to 10_n) operate in parallel, and when the fixed-voltage charging operation is carried out, the charge-controlling device (20) causes one of the first to the nth power converters (10_1 to 10_n) to independently operate.
