Abstract:
According to a battery management device and a method for operating same according to embodiments disclosed in the present document, overdischarge of a battery cell is prevented, and the efficiency of the battery management device may be increased. The battery management device according to one embodiment disclosed in the present document may comprise: a buck converter for generating a driving voltage on the basis of a battery pack voltage; a comparator for comparing a distribution voltage generated on the basis of the battery pack voltage to a reference voltage, and controlling the operation of the buck converter on the basis of the comparison result; and a detection unit for detecting whether or not a battery pack and a target device are connected, and controlling the operation of the comparator on the basis of the detection result.
