Abstract:
The present invention provides a battery module which efficiently maintains heat balance so as to extend the lifespan of operation thereof. In order to achieve the above purpose, a battery module according to the present invention comprises: a plurality of cylindrical battery cells which are arranged in the horizontal direction, and each of which has electrode terminals formed on the upper end portion and the lower end portion thereof, respectively; a module housing comprising an upper wall, side walls, and a lower wall so as to form an inner space for receiving the plurality of cylindrical battery cells, and including a plurality of cooling holes formed through at least one of the upper wall and the lower wall, wherein the cooling holes are configured to be open so as to enable a refrigerant to flow therethrough, and at least two of the multiple cooling holes are configured to have different sizes; and a cell frame including an insertion part and a plurality of cooling tubes, wherein the insertion part has an inner wall to surround at least a part of the outer surface of each of the plurality of cylindrical battery cells, and the plurality of cooling tubes have a tubular shape vertically extending to enable a refrigerant to flow therethrough, and are connected to the cooling holes to communicate with the cooling holes.
