Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a belt sander with which it is easy to carry out operations relating to a lock-on mechanism, and with which unintended movements when the lock-on mechanism is activated are prevented. A belt sander (1) is provided with a grip (16) capable of being gripped by an operator, a brushless motor (3) for driving a sanding belt (B), a switch lever (90) and a lock-on unit (100) enabling an on-operation pertaining to the brushless motor (3) to be performed and enabling the on-operation to be maintained, and a lock-off unit (110) enabling the on-operation pertaining to the brushless motor (3) to be performed. The brushless motor (3) is caused to rotate by means of the on-operations of both the switch lever (90) and the lock-off unit (110). The lock-off unit (110) is disposed in a position capable of being operated by a hand which is gripping the grip (16).
