Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a polyester film which is highly transparent, can be easily subjected to secondary processing, e.g., coating or vapor deposition, to come to have excellent properties after the secondary processing, contains no heavy metals because of the use of a polyester resin that was obtained without using any antimony compound as a polymerization catalyst, and is hence environmentally friendly when, for example, discarded, and which is highly hygienic and has excellent printability; a method for producing the polyester film; a roll of a biaxially oriented polyester film, the roll being reduced in unevenness in longitudinal-direction property even when the wound film is long; and a method for producing the roll. [Solution] A biaxially oriented polyester film constituted from a polyester resin composition containing particles, at least one surface of the film satisfying all of the following requirements (1) to (4). (1) To have minute projections having a height less than 3 nm, the number of which is 250-600 per area of 4×10-12 m2. (2) To have minute projections having a height of 3 nm or larger, the number of which is 300-600 per area of 4×10-12 m2. (3) To have an arithmetic average height Sa of 0.010-0.025 μm. (4) To have an antimony content in the film of 10 ppm or less.
