Abstract:
A binder composition for nonaqueous secondary batteries according to the present invention contains: a particulate polymer which is formed of a polymer having a block region that is composed of an aromatic vinyl monomer unit; a water-soluble polymer; and water. This binder composition is characterized in that: the surface acid amount A of the particulate polymer is 0.05 mmol/g or more; the acid amount B in the aqueous phase of the binder composition is from 0.03 mmol/g to 0.80 mmol/g per 1 g of the particulate polymer; and the ratio of the surface acid amount A of the particulate polymer to the acid amount B in the aqueous phase of the binder composition, namely A/B is from 0.5 to 5.0.
