Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder composition for secondary batteries, which enables the preparation of a slurry composition for secondary battery electrodes from which an electrode having excellent storage stability and excellent peel strength can be produced. The binder composition for secondary batteries of the present invention comprises a water-soluble polymer and polyvalent metal ions, wherein the water-soluble polymer contains a vinyl alcohol structure unit and a carboxylic-acid-group-containing monomer unit and the content of the polyvalent metal ions is 0.1 to 10,000 ppm by mass inclusive relative to the content of the water-soluble polymer.
