Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a binder and a binder mechanism that comprise a simply structured friction plate that can strengthen the frictional force that acts on bound items. [Solution] A binder (1) that comprises a cover member (2); base plates (4) that are fixed to an inner surface of the cover member (2); rod members (5) that are erected on the base plates (4) so as to be perpendicularly upright and parallel to each other; pressing plates (7) that are for pressing bound items (S) toward the base members (4), that have the rod members (5) inserted therethrough, and that can move toward and away from the base plates (4); lock mechanisms (8) that can lock the pressing plates (7) onto the rod members (5) such that the pressing plates (7) are immobile in the pressing direction of the pressing plates (7) and in the opposite direction; and friction plates (17) that have engagement parts (17a) that engage the rod members (5), and that, by being sandwiched between bound items when the engagement parts (17a) have been engaged onto the rod members (5), can strengthen the frictional force that holds the bound items.
