BINDER RESIN COMPOSITION FOR ELECTROSTATIC IMAGE DEVELOPING TONERS

Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a binder resin composition for electrostatic image developing toners, which enables the achievement of a toner that exhibits excellent fixability on a PP film; an electrostatic image developing toner which contains this binder resin composition; a printing method which uses this electrostatic image developing toner; and a printed material obtained by this printing method. [1] A binder resin composition for electrostatic image developing toners, which contains a polyester resin and polyolefin particles, and wherein: the polyolefin particles contain a polymer that has an olefin polymer skeleton having 2 to 3 carbon atoms (inclusive); the volume-based median diameter (D50) of a small particle diameter component is from 20 nm to 400 nm (inclusive) as measured by a dynamic light scattering method with use of a dispersion liquid S of the small particle diameter component obtained by process 1 and process 2; the content ratio of a large particle diameter component, which is obtained by process 2, relative to the total amount of the large particle diameter component and the small particle diameter component is from 0% by mass to 30% by mass (inclusive); the content ratio of the small particle diameter component relative to the total amount of the large particle diameter component and the small particle diameter component is from 70% by mass to 100% by mass (inclusive); and the melting endotherm of the small particle diameter component is from 3 J/g to 10 J/g (inclusive). [2] An electrostatic image developing toner which contains from 20% by mass to 100% by mass of the binder resin composition for electrostatic image developing toners set forth in [1] in a binder resin, while containing a mold release agent having a melting point of from 60°C to 100°C (inclusive) in an amount of from 1 part by mass to 10 parts by mass (inclusive) relative to 100 parts by mass of the binder resin. [3] A printing method which uses the electrostatic image developing toner set forth in [2] and makes a print on a plastic film by means of electrophotography. [4] A printed material which is obtained by the method set forth in [3].
