Title:
BIOABSORBABLE STENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/143115
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a bioabsorbable stent that has adequate strength, is highly robust and flexible, and has excellent expandability. This bioabsorbable stent is characterized in that a plurality of first tubular units in which a plurality of substantially U-shaped cells provided with a substantially straight portion and a substantially arcuate portion and opening at one end in an axial direction are linked together, and a plurality of second tubular units which have the same shape as the first tubular unit and have a substantially U-shape opening in a direction opposite to that of first cells are arranged sequentially in such a way as to enclose a central axis of the stent, wherein linking members link the substantially straight portions of some cells from among the plurality of opposing cells in the adjacent tubular units, and a ratio between a width (wT) at a top portion of the arcuate portions of the cells to a width (wS) at the substantially straight portions of the cells and a ratio between a cell height (h) and a cell width (w) are selected such that a maximum principal stress (σmax) during stent expansion is less than a tensile strength (S) of the constituent material of the cells.
