Abstract:

Disclosed is a foldable electronic device comprising: a first housing; a second housing; at least one sensor; a display; a camera operable in a first mode or a second mode; a processor; and a memory operatively connected to the processor. The foldable electronic device displays notification information about an event on the display, uses the camera in the first mode to acquire at least one first image if the folding state of the foldable electronic device sensed using the at least one sensor satisfies a designated condition, determines whether a face is present on the basis of the at least one first image acquired using the camera, uses the camera in the second mode to acquire at least one second image if a face is determined to be present in the at least one first image, performs facial recognition-based biometric authentication using at least a portion of the at least one second image, and displays the content of the event on the display if the biometric authentication is successful. Various other embodiments inferred from the specification may also be possible.
