Abstract:
A bleaching composition comprising (a) an oxygenic peroxide and (b) an organic peroxy acid precursor represented by general formula (I) (wherein R represents a C10-C18 linear alkyl which may have an unsaturated bond; X represents H, COOM or SO3M; and M represents a cation) and further containing 0.01 to less than 0.5 wt. % of (C) an organic peroxy acid precursor represented by general formula (II) (wherein R' represents a C1-C9 linear or branched alkyl which may have an unsaturated bond or a C10-C18 branched alkyl which may have an unsaturated bond; X represents H, COOM or SO3M; and M represents a cation). The composition exhibits excellent bleaching performance under the ordinary service conditions and, even when used under the severe condition of high concentration for whatever reason, can prevent fading of colored articles to realize safe and effective bleaching.
