Abstract:
A dehumidifier (1), comprising: a blower unit (3) for blowing an airflow at an object; a temperature sensor (6) and a humidity sensor (7) for sensing, respectively, the temperature and the humidity of a prescribed space; a moisture content sensor for sensing the moisture content of the object; and a mold assessment unit for predicting the formation of mold on the object. The moisture content sensor has: a light-emitting part (8) for emitting, at the object, sensing light, which is light having a wavelength that is absorbed by water, and reference light, which is light having a wavelength that is less readily absorbed by water than the sensing light; a light-receiving part (9) for receiving, from the object, reflected light of the sensing light and reflected light of the reference light; and a moisture content calculation unit for comparing the intensities of the reflected light of the sensing light and the reflected light of the reference light received by the light-receiving part (9) and calculating the moisture content. The mold assessment unit performs the prediction on the basis of the moisture content as determined by the moisture content calculation unit, the temperature as determined by the temperature sensor (6), and the humidity as determined by the humidity sensor (7).
