Abstract:
This on-board sensor cleaning device cleans a sensing surface of an on-board sensor. The on-board sensor cleaning device comprises: a gas nozzle that sprays a gas towards the sensing surface; a gas supply device that supplies the gas to the gas nozzle; and a control unit that controls the operation of the gas supply device. A prescribed value that indicates that the detection precision of the on-board sensor is in an abnormal state on the basis of detection precision information obtained from the on-board sensor for an object is set in the control unit. Furthermore, a gas supply threshold for causing the gas supply device to operate so as to supply gas to the sensing surface before the detection precision information is at or below the prescribed value is set in the control unit. If the detection precision information has become less than the gas supply threshold, the control unit operates the gas supply device.
