The present invention relates to a boat propulsion device for propelling a boat by using a screw that is not exposed to the outside. The present invention is technically characterized by comprising: a propulsion case provided at the bottom of a boat to have a communication hole formed to allow water to longitudinally and continuously flow therethrough; a housing provided in the communication hole of the propulsion case so as to be tiltable in the longitudinal direction; a rotary drum rotatably provided inside the housing to have guide spirals formed along the inner diameter thereof; a propulsion screw, which has a screw having a pitch that is the same as that of the guide spiral, so as to propel the boat by draining, toward the stern, the water flowing in through the communication hole while rotating together with the rotary drum; a driving member connected to rotate the propulsion screw and the rotary drum together; and an actuator connected to simultaneously tilt the propulsion screw and the rotary drum in the longitudinal direction of the boat. Therefore, the present invention provides, in the communication hole of the propulsion case, the propulsion screw exhibiting propulsive power and the rotary drum, and thus safely protects the propulsion device from floating matter in the sea and can prevent the injury of marine animals.
