Abstract:
A boosting device (10) is provided with: a drive unit (12) which is driven under the action of energization; and a boosting mechanism (14) which is connected to the drive unit (12) and which boosts and outputs a pressurized fluid. The boosting mechanism (14) comprises: a rotating body (30) which is connected to a drive shaft (24) of a drive source (18) and includes a slope portion (68); and four pistons (32a to 32d) opposing the rotating body (30) and disposed moveably in an axial direction. The pistons (32a to 32d) are sequentially and continuously pushed in the axial direction by means of the slope portion (68) of the rotating body (30), whereby the pressurized fluid is compressed and boosted in a boosting chamber (48). The pressurized fluid that has been boosted in the boosting chamber (48) is discharged out of an output port (64) through a discharge passageway (66a, 66b) when an exhaust check valve (36) is opened.
