Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/127857
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a brain-targeted nasal drug delivery device and a body position fixator thereof. The brain-targeted nasal drug delivery device comprises a body position fixator for keeping the body position of a user in such a position that a nasally delivered drug has access to a specific olfactory region of the upper nasal cavity; and an applicator for nasally delivering the drug to the user and targeting the drug at the brain in the case that the body position fixator keeps the user in the above-mentioned body position, wherein the drug delivery end of the applicator has a shape matching the nasal cavity of the user. In particular, the body position fixator comprises a head-bearing part (600) for bearing the head of a user and keeping the head in such a position that a nasally delivered drug has access to an olfactory region of the upper nasal cavity. The head-bearing part (600) comprises a headrest (610) for bearing the head of a user, a support frame (620) and a central axle (630) for rotatably supporting the headrest (610) on the support frame (620). By keeping a user in a specific drug delivery body position and controlling with a smart element, a nasally delivered drug can enter an olfactory region of the upper nasal cavity at a specific time, speed and quantity, thereby targeting and acting on the brain.
