Abstract:
Disclosed are a broadcasting signal frame generation apparatus and method using layered division multiplexing. A broadcasting signal frame generation apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a combiner which generates a multiplexed signal by combining a core layer signal and an enhanced layer signal at different power levels; a power normalizer which lowers the power of the multiplexed signal down to a power corresponding to the core layer signal; a time interleaver which generates a time interleaved signal by performing interleaving which is applied to both the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal; and a frame builder which generates, by using the time interleaved signal, a broadcasting signal frame including a preamble for signaling time interleaver information which is shared in the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal.
