Abstract:
The invention provides a stove which includes a fuel tank (12) for storing a liquid hydrocarbon fuel (14) for combustion in the stove. A frame (16) made of sheet metal secures the tank (12) to a cooker portion (18) and permits feet (20) of a synthetic material such as PVC to be snapped into a position to provide a stable base for the stove (10) when it stands on a surface such as a table or counter. The tank (12) has a central portion (22) thereof a ceramic porous element (24) made of a ceramic fibre mat which is spirally wound into a cylindrical shape with spaces so that the element (24) may retain a liquid hydrocarbon fuel such as ethanol. The tank (12) is in flow communication with a cylindrical length (28) bridging the gab between element (24) and the burner (30).
