Abstract:
Provided are: a cable bead which can be lightened while the breaking pressure resistance thereof is maintained; and an airplane tire using the same. Provided is a cable bead 10 including: a core 1 comprising an annularly formed steel; and a sheath 3 that is formed by spirally winding a steel sheath filament 2 around the core 1 and that comprises at least one sheath layer, wherein the carbon content is more than 0.90% by mass and not more than 0.95% by mass and the chromium content is 0.15%-0.30% by mass in the sheath filament 2.
