Abstract:
A cache space management method and device. The method can be used in a memory system. The memory system comprises a read cache and a metadata cache. According to the method, a hit rate of the read cache of the memory system is acquired and then the size of the read cache and the size of the metadata cache are adjusted according to the hit rate of the read cache. In the described technical solution, the hit rate of the read cache is used as a decision-making factor to dynamically adjust the size of the read cache and the size of the metadata cache; for example, when the hit rate of the read cache is high, the size of the read cache may be increased so that a great amount of data could be acquired from the read cache and thus data acquiring time delay can be reduced as much as possible; and when the hit rate of the read cache is low, the size of the read cache may be reduced to leave the cache space for the metadata cache so that the data amount of cached metadata is increased and thus data reading performances of a cache system can be improved.
