Abstract:
One embodiment of this invention is a calculation method comprising: a first reciprocal square root step in which a computer calculates the reciprocal square root of a positive real number A using a rapid reciprocal square root method; a second reciprocal square root step in which the computer calculates the reciprocal square root of a positive real number B using the rapid reciprocal square root method; a subtraction step in which the computer subtracts B from A; a first multiplication step in which the computer multiplies the calculation result from the first reciprocal square root step and the calculation result from the second reciprocal square root step; a second multiplication step in which the computer multiplies the calculation result from the first multiplication step and the calculation result from the subtraction step; an addition step in which the computer adds the calculation result from the first reciprocal square root step and the calculation result from the second reciprocal square root step; and a division step in which the computer divides the calculation result from the second multiplication step by the calculation result from the addition step.
