Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a focal plane shutter for which NOP/NCL are switchable and for which an image pick-up interval can be made shorter than the conventional art, and a camera provided with the same. [Solution] In the present invention, the following are provided: front blade driving means (8, 9) for which NOP/NCL are switchable, and that, in an NOP method, causes a front blade to retract from an exposure opening when a set member (15) is in a set position and causes the exposure opening to be covered by the front blade when an initial position return operation is performed, and that in a NCL method, causes the exposure opening to be covered by the front blade during the time until the set member returns from the set position to an initial position and an exposure operation begins; a rear-blade first driving member (11) makes a rear blade, that is locked to a locking member (17) when a setting operation is performed, cover the exposure opening, and when the locking of the locking member is released just before the set position is reached, the rear-blade first driving member causes the rear blade to retract from the exposure opening; and a rear-blade second driving member (12) that is rotated in a setting direction by a setting operation, rotates the rear-blade first driving member in an exposure operation direction when an exposure operation is performed, and causes the exposure opening to be covered by the rear blade.
