Abstract:
This car-to-car communication system comprises: a plurality of vehicle communication devices; and a wireless base station. The vehicle communication devices comprise: a vehicle information acquisition unit (F1) which sequentially acquires vehicle information; a wide-area communication unit (11) that can communicate with other devices; a wide-area communication control unit (F3) which is capable of regular broadcast transmission of vehicle information packets; a short-range communication unit (12) which can perform short-range communication; a short-range communication control unit (F4) which is capable of regular broadcast transmission of vehicle information packets; and a report processing unit (F32) which sequentially transmits a signal indicating position information of the host vehicle to the wireless base station. The wide-area communication unit control unit stops regular wide-area transmission processing on the basis of a command from the wireless base station. The wireless base station is equipped with: a base station communication unit (21) that receives vehicle status reports; an intra-cell vehicle management unit (G1) that manages vehicle position information; an encounter determination unit (G2) that determines the possibility that the transmission source vehicle will encounter another vehicle; and a device control unit (G3) that instructs the transmission source device to stop regular wide-area transmission processing.
