The purpose of the present invention is to provide a carbon fiber reinforced resin composite that is light weight, has high strength, has good heat transfer anisotropy and thermal insulation, and has a metallic shine, and to provide a production method for the carbon fiber reinforced resin composite. The carbon fiber reinforced resin composite comprises a laminate of at least one carbon fiber reinforced resin layer and at least one thermal insulation layer. The thermal insulation layer comprises a thread that contains voids and is a single raw material with an average surface roughness (Ra) of 0.3 µm or less. It is desirable for the thermal insulating layer to be a non-woven fabric from a thread containing voids, knit, or cloth, etc.
